Labor Day weekend is the Valley's unofficial "we made it through summer" party — and the 2026 lineup is stacked. Two stadium-size concerts, a three-day rodeo in North Scottsdale, and the season's first big First Friday. Here's your Sept 4–7 game plan.
Friday, September 4 — First Friday Art Walk (Downtown Phoenix)
One of the largest self-guided art walks in the country returns 6–10 pm around Roosevelt Row. 70+ galleries, pop-up venues, food trucks and live music — free to wander, and September's edition kicks off the fall season. Go early for parking, or take the Valley Metro light rail to Roosevelt/Central.
Saturday, September 5 — pick your arena
- Zach Bryan at State Farm Stadium (Glendale) — with MJ Lenderman. The biggest country tour of the year rolls into the Cardinals' stadium.
- Ramón Ayala at Desert Diamond Arena (Glendale) — the legend of norteño, same night, next door.
- Rodeo Scottsdale opens at WestWorld — bulls, broncs and barrel racing, running Sept 5–7 in North Scottsdale.
Sunday, September 6 — My Chemical Romance at Chase Field
MCR with Jimmy Eat World (Mesa's own) under the roof at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. Pair it with dinner in the Roosevelt Row district before doors.
Monday, September 7 — Labor Day proper
- Rodeo Scottsdale, final day — WestWorld of Scottsdale.
- Resort daycation — Valley resorts run end-of-summer pool passes; this is the classic local Labor Day move.
- Beat-the-heat hike — Pinnacle Peak or the McDowell Sonoran Preserve at sunrise only; carry more water than you think you need.
